Harvest Pumpkin Tea Light Holder

Harvest Pumpkin Tea Light Holder

Happy Fall 2015! I just love this time of year, even though it's still over 90 degrees here in the desert.
I know I've been MIA (missing in action) for quite some time now. (Has it really been over a year and a half???) Time flies!
Anyhoo... on to another exciting crafting project.
I just love the technology of battery operated candles. No smoke, no danger. Just happy glow all over my house and in places I would never put a real candle. This paper craft project is one of those no worry places for a battery candle. (Here's the disclaimer even though it's pretty obvious...DON'T USE REAL CANDLES OR YOUR PUMPKIN BOX WILL CATCH FIRE AND CAUSE POSSIBLE BURN INJURY OR POSSIBLY BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN.) Gee, now that's over with. Ho hum...
The technology keeps getting better too. Did you know that some of the battery operated candles have timers?! So cool! You turn it on at the time of day you wish your candle to go on each day. It will remain lit for several hours (usually the standard is 6 hours) and then turn itself off. Then the next day it remembers the same time of day you turned it on and then turns itself on again. Convenience! I think the timer tea light candles would be a great addition to these pumpkin tea light holders because then you don't have to open the box every day to turn your candle on and off. The timer will do it for you!

I just love this little tea light holder. There are so many purposes they could be used for and gift giving comes first to mind. In fact I made up a batch of these in orange and punched some jack-o-lantern faces on them. I have plans to give them to my son's classmates at school. What a great alternative to candy! They can enjoy the harvest glow all October. (Check out more pictures below!)

I provided a video tutorial so I won't include all the instructions here. Instead the list of supplies to make these cute pumpkins are provided below with links to my Stampin' Up store.
Until next time... keep stamping!
